Job Details
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 18 years or older, required
- Quality experience in manufacturing of 1-2 years, preferred but not required
- Experience with critical computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Access (data base) and Excel, including the ability to understand spreadsheets, charts, and technical manuals
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication); Convert units of measure.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Maintains positive team environment
- Demonstrates organizational skills and highly detail oriented
- Ability to work in a fast-pace, multi-task environment
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Safe Quality Food Responsibilities:
DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:
- Work within and adhere to GPI’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork
- Adhere to plant and corporate safety policies by always performing duties in a safe and orderly manner; be actively engaged in all safety programs
- Ensure production and distribution of products is consistent with established food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
- Maintain 5S in assigned work area by keeping area and equipment clean and orderly
- Ensure product quality requirements are maintained using predetermined testing methods including setup parameters, visual inspection, destructive testing, and measurement of variables
- Perform quality tests by stack height, Rim O.D., Rim thickness, cup height, bottom depth, caliper, moisture, dyne level, ink adhesion, rewetting, scratch resistant, poly adhesion, leak test, tilt test, color matching, basis weight, tear tests, bar code scanning
- Disseminate color variations against approved color masters or artwork; must have visual color acuity (not color blind)
- Document quality issues through inspection records and machine adjustment notices
- Fill sample requests, randomly inspect all incoming materials, resin color, etc.
- Gather sample product for Sales (Customer Samples as requested), RBI testing (quarterly), Chemical testing (yearly), food contact testing (quarterly)
- Complete departmental quality audits – cup finishing, printing, blanking, extrusion, mix prevention and lids
- Coordinate with all department personnel, on each line, to address quality issues
- Check in new orders using check off sheets, M.O. sheets, schedules and filing away completed paperwork from completed orders
